Sand & Refinishing

Changing the surface of your floor

Solid hardwood floors can be refinished multiple times. Refinishing is the process of sanding off the current coatings from your floor, and replacing them with a new color and finish. This process will remove most damage that has occurred to the surface, minus some severe staining.

Refinishing hardwood floors is an art form. Many contractors say that they can do it, but it really takes the skill of a master craftsman to produce the most durable and aesthetically-pleasing end product.

When choosing a flooring contractor, keep in mind the following things:

1. Is the contractor fully insured?

We are fully insured with General Liability and Workers Compensation Insurance.

2. Is the contractor certified in the products and services he provides?

We are certified Bona Craftsmen, NWFA Certified Sand and Finishers, and Lagler Certified. This means that we are trained in all products we use, and backed by the manufacturer

3. Will the contractor be using cheap finishes that are not that durable, and are harmfull for the environment such as oil based polyurethane?

We prefer to use waterborne products that are better for the environment and offer a much better experience for the client. We also use 0 VOC hardwax oil finishes that are easy to maintain.

4. Will the contractor be giving you any different options based on preferences, your lifestyle, and what works best in your case?

We like to evaluate your situation, and educate you on various options available to you.
